Retouching: Before and after
Thursday, June 4, 2009
I am often asked what my images looked like before the post retouching. I have posted a few examples in the past. Here I have Jenifer Ann in a before and after side by side comparison. I have applied the skin retouching technique that I have posted here on my site as well as some blending techniques using layers. (I now have a video available that shows the techniques I use for all my images) How much blending techniques I use depends on the subject and I guess the mood I am in at the time. You can also see that I have used a very small amount of Liquify on the right side of the face as well as in the hair.
For me, the post retouching work is an extension of my vision as an artist. My final results may not agree with your taste or liking but points out the uniqueness we all have as individual artist. In addition, my skills as a retoucher and my vision as an artist is constantly evolving. How I approach a subject today may differ tomorrow.
